A Ritual for Transcending Limitations: Invoking Ganesha The lovable, elephant-headed Ganesha is the personification of strength while facing obstacles and challenges. In this participatory ritual we will be invoking the presence of Ganesh who dwells within us as the capacity to be firm in the face of challenge, and to help us embody receptivity and care. It is taught in Hinduism that all of the deities exist within us as our inner nature of light and love, and outwardly are the external expressions of our heart. When we chant mantras and perform rituals we are not praying outside of ourselves to a deity, but are invoking the inner deity to awaken within us, and for that light to bless us and pervade our intellect, mind, thoughts, emotions, sense organs and actions.
Eddie Stern’s journey into the yoga practice began in the late 80’s, when he was introduced to yoga by a co-worker. Yoga transformed his body and mind, and he now teaches others to feel better with yoga too.
